I was born and raised in Colorado, but Eddie was born and raised in New Jersey. Since Eddie had never been to Colorado I wanted to take him there to see where I grew up. So in January of 2012 we planned a trip to Colorado.
When we were in Colorado we visited my family and took a trip to the Rocky Mountains for a weekend getaway.
This was Eddie's first time snowboarding and while I grew up skiing I had been snowboarding a few times before. We had a great time, despite Eddie's reckless ways. He almost went right over the mountain and managed to get separated from my family and I. I immediately panicked and began having a horrible anxiety attack. All I could think about was needing to find him and make sure he was alright. When I saw his face again tears started streaming down my face and I was so mad I stomped away from him. Inside I felt relief, but I couldn't believe he would put me through such a horrible feeling. He spent the rest of the day in the cabin with me calming me down.
We spent the night outside in the freezing cold sitting in a steaming hot tub. Relaxing our muscles from our day of snowboarding.
Snowmobiles was Eddie's favorite adventure. The trails were great, there were several play fields, and to make it better we got caught in a blizzard on our way back into town (almost got lost).
He had all the freedom to be as crazy as he wanted on the snowmobile as long as I wasn't on the back with him!
Later that night we went to my favorite tubing hill and had a blast flying down the hill in a snow storm!
The best part is you don't waste your time and energy walking back up the hill. You just clip into the tube lift and it brings you right back to the top of the hill!
